F or 23-year-old Aiden Harris, filmmaking isn't just a passion – it's a way of understanding what it means to be human.

The Gilbert native and Arizona State University graduate has just completed his first feature-length documentary, “In This World I Am King,” a portrait of Oklahoma artist Kevin Stark. It will screen at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24 at Pollack Cinemas, located in the Royal Palm Plaza, 1825 E. Elliot Road, Tempe.

The documentary explores Stark’s life, work, and the five personas that define identity as both a creator and a man trying to survive.

And it arrives at Pollack Cinemas as an award winner. It captured the awards for best director, best documentary and best film at the Red Brick Film Festival in Paul’s Valley, Oklahoma.
