A “Girls in Gear” flyer on an event aimed at teaching youngsters how to bike had an Arizona education leader demanding a philosophical skid.

The title of the news release: “Closing schools tied to parents’ anger about woke ideology.”

In the Oct. 14 release, Arizona Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Horne blasted what he called “the latest effort by the Scottsdale Unified district to promote the transgender agenda among elementary and middle school students.”

Horne took offense to a flyer shared on social media for a “pedal power” event.

On the “who can join?” line, the flyer lists “girls, nonbinary youth, gender-expansive rider.”

SUSD Superintendent Scott Menzel was asked for comment on Horne’s allegations.
