After more than a year of controversy and debate, Jefferson Parish’s plan to build a $10.3 million brewpub has hit another hurdle over state funding for the adjacent parking garage. And now, Sen. Patrick Connick, R-Marrero, is asking the state attorney general to intervene.
Construction began a year ago on the two-story brewpub, along with a 148-space parking garage, linear park and other infrastructure improvements, which have been touted by officials as an economic driver for the West Bank . The brewpub, which will be operated by Port Orleans Brewery and Avo Taco, is expected to open next summer.
The total estimated cost of the project is now $34.2 million, according to the 2025-26 capital outlay request, up from the original $25 million .
