Two Teesside Pizza Hut restaurants will close after the company behind its UK venues fell into administration. The chain is to close 68 restaurants across the UK as well as 11 delivery sites.

It's expect to result in the loss of more than 1,200 jobs. Restaurants at Middlesbrough Leisure Park and Hartlepool Marina will shut for good, it has been confirmed. The restaurant at Teesside Park will be the only venue in the region.

DC London Pie, the firm running Pizza Hut's restaurants in the UK, appointed administrators from corporate finance firm FTI on Monday. The company has said 1,210 workers are being made redundant as part of the closures.
