LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - LG&E and KU have reached an agreement on their rate increase request.

The companies say they need the money to improve their infrastructure. KU residential electric customers could see their bill go up by $9 per month, while LG&E’s increase would be around $5 a month. Gas customers could see an increase of $8 per month.

The Kentucky Public Service Commission still has to approve the rate increase and if it does, the new rates would be implemented no earlier than January 2026.
