MONROE, La. (KNOE) - The Fat Pelican restaurant in northeast Louisiana serves Gulf-style seafood with a Southern twist.
The restaurant, located at 1810 Tower Drive in Monroe, offers both seafood and soul food options for customers seeking coastal or Southern cuisine.
It emphasizes fresh ingredients, receiving deliveries three to four times per week to avoid serving frozen food.
“We are really big on only serving fresh food and getting a truck in three-quarters times a week to make sure our food stays fresh and making sure we can please our customers by not serving frozen food or food that everyone else has,” manager Kelsey Medaries said.
The menu features dishes including shrimp and grits, seafood-stuffed po’boys and Southern sides that combine coastal flavors with comfort food.
