ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. (WAVY) -- A career offender was recently sentenced to 25 years in prison in connection with drug and firearm charges.
According to officials, 36-year-old Charles Lamon Gregory, III was sentenced to a total of 25 years in prison on Oct. 20 after being convicted of possessing a firearm in further of a drug trafficking crime, possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine and possession of a firearm by a felon in June of 2025.
Police said that on Aug. 7, 2022, officers with the Elizabeth City Police Department conducted a traffic stop on Gregory, where he was found to be in possession of a firearm and crack cocaine.
