Police have launched a murder investigation after a man died of serious injuries over the Cambridgeshire border. Emergency services were called to an address in Stamford shortly before 1.10am on Tuesday (October 21).

Officers at the scene found a 67-year-old man in a second floor property on Foundry Road who was seriously injured. He was given immediate emergency medical treatment, but he subsequently died.

A 36-year-old local man has been arrested on suspicion of murder. He remains in custody.
