A person has died after being struck by a train in Cambridgeshire . The incident took place before 9am on Tuesday (October 21).
The casualty was pronounced dead at the scene. A British Transport Police spokesperson explained: "Officers were called to Meldreth railway station at around 9am today (21 October) following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
"Paramedics also attended. However, sadly, a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
"The incident is not being treated as suspicious, and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
Trains were cancelled between Cambridge and Hitchin as emergency services attended the incident.
