Two weather warnings for rain and wind have been issued for Kent.

The Met Office has put yellow alerts in place for Thursday (October 21) from 12am until just before midnight on Friday.

The warnings cover the whole county, as well as London and Essex.

The alert for rain will begin from 12am and last until 9pm, while the one for wind will start at 9am and last for the rest of the evening.

Experts say it comes as “a complex area of low pressure over the mid-Atlantic” early this week is expected to move towards the UK.

There is at least a “medium likelihood” that in places, a heavy swathe of rain will spread from the south west with rainfall on early Thursday morning totalling 20 to 30mm, and for some places 30 to 50mm.
