After what forecasters saying will be a “beautiful” autumn day across Massachusetts, rain and cool temperatures will roll into the state.

Skies are expected to be sunny and temperatures will climb well into the 60s on Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.

Highs in Springfield and Boston may reach up to 67 and 66 degrees, respectively, while even the Berkshires and Cape Cod and the Islands will be in the low 50s.

However, weather patterns are expected to shift overnight with rain showers starting after 10 p.m., with a marginal risk for rumbles of thunder.

The showers are expected to develop first in Western Massachusetts, then move toward Eastern Massachusetts between 4 a.m. and 8 a.m. on Wednesday, forecasters said.
