CORNELIUS, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- A popular Downtown Cornelius bar and music venue will close its doors in the coming months to make way for new development.
The owner is looking forward to the construction, despite the fact that it will shut down his business.
Catawba Avenue will see some changes in the coming years, as a developer prepares to build a new project with retail, restaurant and living space. To do that, the building that's been home to Old Town Public House for the past decade has to come down.
"We live and breathe this community, so in that aspect, it's sad," said owner Case Warnemunde. "But we're ready for the next chapter."
Warnemunde knew the potential for Downtown Corenlius when he moved to town 15 years ago.
