FARGO — Building permit records indicate a new "quick-serve" Taco John's may be coming to University Drive in south Fargo.
According to paperwork filed with the city of Fargo Monday, Oct. 20, a new restaurant is planned at 2253 University Drive S., a location once home to a Burger King in the former KMart parking lot. The KMart was torn down in 2022 and is now home to Midtown Market. The Burger King came down in 2024.
Proposed work would include: "New Taco John's quick-serve restaurant with associated parking, drive-thru, waste enclosure, pedestrian ways and drive access locations," according to the application.
Pentex Restaurant Group , the largest Taco John's franchisee in the country based in Fargo, recently filed a permit application to fit up a former Taco John's location at 4
