FARGO — A walk through the Fargodome with Tom Kennedy almost feels like a walk with a celebrity.
Most people who work there — from the part-time employees to the managers — not only know him, they seem excited to see him.
“Oh, it’s the Dippin Dots guy!” a smiling ticket taker says as she lets us in, minus tickets, so we can get photos of Kennedy at his kiosk. “C’mon through.”
Then again, when you’ve worked so hard at something that you’ve become known as “Mr. Dippin’ Dots” or “Dotman,” you deserve a bit of recognition.
Especially if, like Kennedy, you’re an affable 86 year old with a friendly personality and more energy than someone 30 years younger.
Or if you still are as enthusiastic about your product as you were when you first started selling it.
