A Columbus judge has temporarily lifted the ban on high school athletes in Ohio earning money from their name, image, and likeness by granting a restraining order against existing eligibility rules.

The Ohio High School Athletic Association had voted against NIL deals in 2022. The OHSAA Board of Directors last month approved language for another NIL proposal that they planned to vote on in May. However, Monday’s ruling is likely to accelerate the timetable.
