ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. (WNDU) - A St. Joseph County judge has dismissed the lawsuit filed by Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita against the St. Joseph County Police Department for alleged failure to cooperate with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
The civil suit was first filed back in January . According to court paperwork, the motion to dismiss was granted on Friday by Judge Jenny Pitts Manier.
Rokita accused the police department of not properly notifying ICE about the release of undocumented immigrants as well as refusing to honor ICE detainers. But the court ruled Rokita failed to provide any evidence or specific facts to support those claims.
