General Motors Co. says it will stop producing the BrightDrop electric delivery van at its plant in Ingersoll, Ont., in the latest blow to Canada’s auto sector, which faces a battery of dropped shifts, indefinite work stoppages, layoffs and uncertainty as the trade war with the United States drags on.

Hundreds of workers had been expecting to return to GM’s Ingersoll plant in November, having been out of work since May, when GM stopped production there due to a lack of demand.
