Governor Matt Meyer has written to President Donald Trump requesting him to authorize emergency coastal restoration funds in the wake of a nor'easter earlier this month that chewed up a considerable amount of beach front in Delaware's coastal communities.

The governor requested the President to direct the Army Corps of Engineers to invoke its emergency restoration authority.

"Our beaches are part of Delaware’s critical infrastructure that protects homes, roads, and jobs," Meyer wrote. "On top of revenue losses and increased costs to the state due to federal legislation, Delaware has been hit hard by recent nor’easter weather.
