Lawyers for Brian Walshe , the man who allegedly killed and dismembered his wife in Cohasset, may call former State Police investigator Michael Proctor , who was fired over his conduct in the Karen Read case , as a witness when Walshe stands trial, records show.
The possibility that Proctor , who served as lead investigator in both high-profile cases, may be called as a Walshe defense witness was disclosed Friday in a joint pretrial memorandum, which reiterated that prosecutors do not intend to call the ex-trooper.
“The Commonwealth is not calling former Tpr. Michael Proctor but requests that his name be announced as he was present for the recorded interviews [of Walshe] and jurors will hear his name,” prosecutors said in the memorandum, later crossing out most of the sente
