LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - The annual Silver Bells in the City holiday celebration returns to Lansing for its 41st year on Friday, November 21.
First held in 1984, the event draws more than 40,000 visitors to Michigan’s capital city each year on the Friday before Thanksgiving. In 2024 alone, the estimated economic impact reached $1.4 million.
This year’s festivities will take place from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., with the Electric Light Parade stepping off at 6 p.m. from the corner of Lenawee Street and South Washington Square.
The parade will feature over 70 illuminated entries adorned with thousands of lights.
Immediately following the parade, the annual State Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony will be held in front of the Capitol Building.
