When Winnipeg-based composer and woodwind specialist Sean Irvine began writing his new album, he wasn’t just arranging notes on a staff — he was giving voice to stories of identity, resilience, and belonging.

The project, set for release in February 2026, reimagines 2SLGBTQ+ stories from around the world through an 18-piece jazz ensemble, recorded in collaboration with the Winnipeg Jazz Orchestra. Featuring sweeping arrangements, poetic narration, and a deep emotional undercurrent, the album reflects Irvine’s belief that music can make empathy audible.
