ORONO -- The Maine Black Bears are fresh off their much needed bye-week and are preparing to host their homecoming game against conference rival Elon University on Saturday.
However, Maine will be without one of their key offensive contributors for the rest of the season. Versatile sophomore Nick Laughlin suffered a knee injury in their game vs Merrimack two weeks ago, which will effectively end his season.
“It broke my heart. It really did," said graduate wide receiver Scott Woods. "Nick first and foremost is a phenomenal football player and were going to miss him truly. But he’s an even better guy off the field. He doesn’t deserve this.”
