ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) - The Roanoke Police Department is in search of a suspect who attempted to rob a fast food restaurant and left empty handed on Sunday evening, October 19.

At 7:51 p.m., RPD officers responded to the 700 block of Brandon Ave. SW to a report of a robbery.

Officers spoke with employees who say an 18 or 19-year-old Caucasian man entered the store and pointed a gun at a worker demanding cash, according to the Roanoke Police Department.

The worker ran from the store and the suspect attempted to open the till and was unsuccessful; the suspect then fled the scene.
