A tree fell and knocked down power lines near downtown Pleasant Hill, police said Tuesday morning.

Pleasant Hill police initially issued an alert at about 12:15 a.m. about downed power lines on Gregory Lane between Cleaveland Road and Moiso Lane.

Police in an update shortly before 7:30 a.m. said a fallen tree caused the problem. PG&E crews responded to assist, and westbound Gregory Lane is closed so motorists are advised to take alternate routes around the area, according to police.
