A Killeen man who was indicted in 2021 on a child sex charge will have a jury decide his case at a trial this week in Bell County’s 27th Judicial District Court.

Wesley David Battles, 35, was indicted on June 16, 2021, on three counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child. The charge is a first-degree felony because of the accuser’s age of under 14 at the time of the alleged assaults.

Battles posted a bond of $100,000 on Feb. 2, 2021, and was released from law enforcement custody.

“A jury was selected late last afternoon and the trial will proceed today,” according to First Assistant District Attorney Erica Morgan in an email on Tuesday morning.
