A New England-based restaurant chain is expanding to Fitchburg, the city’s mayor announced on Tuesday.
Tavern in the Square will be opening a new restaurant at 170 Whalon St. next year, Mayor Samantha Squailia wrote on Facebook Tuesday morning.
The new restaurant will replace the Singapore Restaurant & Lounge, which permanently closed its doors in June .
The Fitchburg location will feature indoor and outdoor dining for 150 guests along with an outdoor patio, Squailia wrote. The restaurant’s website lists Fitchburg as an upcoming location in addition to Bedford, New Hampshire.
