Port Elgin’s Rachel Hannah won the women’s Canadian crown at the 2025 TCS Toronto Waterfront Marathon on Sunday.
Hannah paced the Canadian women in her fifth Toronto marathon and finished with a time of 2:33:47, which placed her sixth overall in the women’s race.
Hannah has now won six national titles, but Sunday’s race win was her first in the marathon distance.
“I had really good training this year. I ran 2:34 in Boston, and Boston is a fairly challenging course. I felt fitter than last year . . . I had a better build, and I think all the heat training really helped, so going in, I felt really confident,” Hannah said.
Hannah said she’s been able to train consistently without any unplanned days off or injuries, “which is half the battle in long-distance running.”
