TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) - Pima County deputies have a warning following a crash involving one of their own.

The crash was at the intersection of Cortaro Farms and Thornydale. Deputies say a driver attempted to bypass cars stopped for a Pima County Sheriff's Department deputy. A black Dodge Challenger hit the passenger side of the deputy's SUV.

The driver, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Fortunately, the deputy was wearing a seat belt and is unharmed.

Kevin Adger from the Pima County Sheriff's Department emphasized the importance of safety measures.

"We always remind drivers to move over for law enforcement or firefighters or first responders. If you hear or see lights and sirens that's when you pause and move over," Adger said
