CHEROKEE COUNTY, Texas — An East Texas man on trial for murder was found guilty by a Cherokee County courtroom Tuesday, the Cherokee County District Clerk's Office said.

Noal Price, 56, was arrested on a murder charge in connection with the death of 42-year-old Samuel Muller in 2023. Muller was found dead in a home on Mitchell St., near the Wells Baseball Field, on May 8, 2023.

This is Price's second trial after jurors in his first trial could not come to a unanimous verdict. This led to a hung jury and the judge declaring a mistrial in August.

Price now moves on to the sentencing phase of his trial, which is scheduled to begin Wednesday morning.
