Former coach Bruce Pearl was in the front row supporting his son Steven Pearl and the Tigers during Steven’s preseason debut as Auburn basketball’s head coach in last week’s exhibition against Oklahoma State.

Despite Auburn falling to the Cowboys 97-95 in overtime , Pearl talked about the things his dad shared with him postgame.

“We talked on the way home, I gave him a call, and just was like, ‘Hey, what were some of your thoughts?’ He was good. He said, ‘You guys obviously have pieces, and that’s really all you can ask for at this point in the year,’” Pearl said Tuesday afternoon.
