The Montgomery County Commission passed a resolution to provide funding to the struggling Jackson Hospital.

During a Tuesday meeting, the commission agreed to support the Montgomery hospital with $10 million, but commissioners said the vote probably won’t be enough to save Jackson.

“We’re not any better off than we were last week or the week before, as it relates to keeping Jackson hospital open,” commission member Isaiah Sankey said.

Commissioner Doug Singleton said today’s vote “is more of a commitment” that they will provide funding so long as the city and state also come to the table.

Jackson Hospital filed for bankruptcy in February after defaulting on $60 million in bonds four months earlier.
