ROCKDALE, Texas (KBTX) - Rockdale ISD Superintendent Dr. Denise Monzingo announced she will retire at the end of the current school year.

According to a release , Dr. Monzingo joined the district in 2014 as the Superintendent.

“During her tenure, she has led the district through remarkable growth, innovation, and transformation, leaving behind a legacy rooted in excellence, equity, and opportunity for every student,” the release said.

She was named Region VI Superintendent of the Year in 2017.

Before joining Rockdale ISD, she spent time at Pflugerville ISD in various roles, including teacher and principal.
