A bike ride billed as the “Burning Ring of Fire” has heated up concerns with farmers who say cyclists rode on poultry farms’ private lanes during an avian influenza outbreak.

The event, hosted by the Lititz Bikeworks bicycle shop, took place Oct. 19 and covered a 44-mile route through northern Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
