Baltimore’s Patterson Park will glow this weekend as the 26th annual Great Baltimore Lantern Parade and Día de los Muertos Festival returns Saturday, Oct. 25.

Presented by Creative Alliance and The Friends of Patterson Park, the annual event celebrates art, light and community with an afternoon family festival followed by a nighttime lantern parade.

Each year, more than 12,000 people attend the event, which has become a hallmark of Baltimore’s fall season. Organizers say the parade brings together residents from across the city to celebrate creativity, culture and community spirit.

A rain date is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 26.

The festival begins at 4 p.m. near the Pulaski Monument and includes a kids’ costume contest, lantern-making activities, pop-up performances, an arts and crafts
