The National Weather Service has issued a frost advisory for much of central Iowa.
When is the frost advisory?
The frost advisory will be in effect starting at 2 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22. Temperatures are expected to drop as low as 32 degrees during this time and frost is expected to form in the area.
The frost advisory, which is the first of the season, includes Des Moines, Ames, Indianola, Fort Dodge and several other cities throughout the central Iowa region, stretching to the state's southern border.
