A 53-year-old motorcyclist died Tuesday after crashing into an SUV on Indiana 205, Whitley County investigators said in a news release.

Brian C. O'Connor of Columbia City was driving north on Indiana 205 when he tried to turn left onto Blue Lake Road. O'Connor didn't yield oncoming traffic while turning left, and he struck the SUV driven by 67-year-old Paula A. Murphy of Churubusco, according to a crash report.

Murphy was taken to Parkview Whitley Hospital for injuries that were listed as unknown in the crash report.

The crash was investigated by the Whitley County Sheriff's Department and coroner's office.
