An arrest was made in connection with a homicide in Montevallo.

The Montevallo Police Department reported Devven Johnson, 31, of Calera, was taken into custody on Oct. 20 by the Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force.

Johnson faces murder and firearm charges in relation to the shooting death of Cedric Carter, 26, of Ensley, police said.

The incident happened around 9:30 p.m. on Graham Street Oct. 18 .
