BIRMINGHAM, Ala. —
A family is preparing to lay their loved one to rest after a tragic bonfire shooting over the weekend. Now, a young woman is giving the gift of life to others.
The family of Kimber Mills told WVTM 13 that UAB hospital gave her an honor walk, a ceremony for those who are preparing to donate their organs and save others’ lives. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said her life was cut short after a fight at “The Pit” in the Pinson area turned to a shooting.
Hundreds of Mills’ family and friends—and even people who didn’t know her that well, like Michael Holmes—flooded UAB hospital with pink on Tuesday afternoon. Mills’ family said WVTM 13 doctors told them there’s no surgery that would save her life after she was shot at a bonfire in Pinson early Sunday morning. Mills
