FREDERICKSBURG, Va. — With just two weeks before Election Day, Democratic leaders gathered in Fredericksburg on Tuesday to energize supporters and push for a strong voter turnout as new polling shows Virginia’s top statewide races tightening.
Former U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg headlined the rally, urging volunteers to hit the doors for Democratic gubernatorial candidate Abigail Spanberger . Speaking to a packed crowd waving blue campaign signs, Buttigieg framed the Virginia race as a pivotal moment for the nation’s political direction.
“So when the future generations are asking what were you doing back in the 2020s when it was all on the line,” Buttigieg told the crowd, “you are going to say I was there when it all turned around, starting on Election Day in Virginia.”
