HANOVER, N.H. —
Two Upper Valley communities are taking a closer look at their own ordinances after new state laws meant to prevent sanctuary cities were passed.
Hanover and Lebanon could lose a significant amount of state funding if they don't comply, but the possible need to change the communities' ordinances is drawing mixed reactions.
"If it means losing money, then Lebanon probably needs to have a hard look at what they're doing and make sure that we're in compliance with that," said John Replogle, of Hanover.
"At the end of the day, principles are principles, and you've got to abide by and support your principles, and being more inclusive, I think, is a smart thing," said another Hanover man.
