HOLT COUNTY, Mo - An Independence man is dead following a one-vehicle accident in Holt County this morning.

The accident occurred just before 9:30 on northbound Interstate 29 at the 95.4 mile marker, three miles north of Craig. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol an SUV driven by a 45-year-old Independence man traveled off the west side of the road and overturned, ejecting the man from the vehicle.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. The man wasn't wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
