Four people were found dead inside an Orange County home after what was initially being investigated as drug overdoses on Tuesday, Oct. 21, police said.

The Fullerton Police Department received a 911 call about 11 a.m. from a male caller who reported four of his friends had overdosed and were not breathing at a home in the 100 block of West Wilshire Avenue, the agency said in a written statement .

Responding police officers and paramedics encountered "what appeared to be four deceased adults inside the residence," according to the statement.

No further details were available as the investigation remained in its early stages.

"There is no immediate threat to the public," the police statement added.

Officials did not disclose what type of drug was believed to have been involved.
