NORWALK, Ohio (WOIO) - A terrifying incident unfolded at the Econo Lodge in Norwalk on Saturday when a motel housekeeper was violently attacked in a room by a recently released convict.
The quick-thinking housekeeper managed to escape, and the suspect, 33-year-old Eric Carroll, was later apprehended after a brief pursuit.
The ordeal began with a scream from a motel room in the middle of the afternoon, followed by the sound of a door slamming shut.
Carroll has a history of violent crime, according to police
“He had just recently been released from prison. He then transitioned to a halfway house and was released from there two days prior to this incident,” said Detective Sergeant Hamernik.
Fortunately, the entire attack was captured by a nearby security camera.
