The Kenai City Council adopted a resolution on Wednesday, October 15, authorizing the City’s participation in a grant application to fund critical infrastructure for a new low-income and senior housing project.

Resolution 2025-61 allows the City to apply for up to $850,000 through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program.

Funds would be used to extend water and sewer services and construct a local service road along Sixth Street in support of a development by the Kenai Peninsula Housing Initiative (KPHI).

The City has previously donated land for the project under several ordinances, including Ordinance 2899-2016, Ordinance 3217-2021, and Ordinance 2463-2025.
