Corey Carl Miklic received an automatic life sentence without parole for a minimum 13 years for the stabbing death of Brett Davidson

Still wearing the blood-stained clothes he had on when he randomly and fatally stabbed a Calgary man, confessed killer Corey Carl Miklic went to see a movie, court heard Tuesday.

In an unexplained attack Justice David Labrenz called “shocking,” Miklic admitted fatally stabbing naval veteran Brett Davidson in the hallway outside the victim’s Inglewood condo unit.

Miklic, 44, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the Aug. 27, 2022, killing of Davidson, who was attacked while returning from walking his dog in the early afternoon.
