Regardless of how you feel about events in the stars' lives outside of the films, it's difficult to deny that Pirates of the Caribbean remains one of Disney's most bankable intellectual properties, and any new release is going to draw major interest from fans of all ages.

It has been eight whole years since the last release in the franchise and talk of its future was up in the air for a long while. Now, we know that a reboot on the way, and producer Jerry Bruckheimer has actively been in discussions with Depp to reprise the role he has occupied in all five Pirates of the Caribbean movies.
