A new program is set to launch in Decatur early next year, aiming to help families achieve stable, long term housing.
The nonprofit, Community Action Partnership of North Alabama, broke ground on their Neighborhood Promise Training Center Tuesday afternoon, a facility designed to build long-term stability.
The center, which will emulate an actual home, is expected to be completed around February 2026. It will offer classes on a variety of home-related skills, from basic repairs to education for first-time homeowners.
"Our whole goal is to provide services, train people, create more homeowners, create better renters, and just make sure everyone’s taking care of themselves and each other," said Candy Ayers, Director of Homeownership at CAPNA.
