Dozens of rare and highly valuable Labubu dolls have been found after police launched an investigation into a series of alleged retail burglaries.

Four months of alleged doll thefts ended on October 21 when investigators searched a home in Airport West, in Melbourne's northwest suburbs, at 6am.

A 40-year-old man was arrested and charged with four counts of burglary and two counts of theft.

Police said around $9000 worth of stolen Labubu dolls were recovered from the home, noting the haul of 43 figures included several limited-edition items.

The limited edition dolls were worth about $500 each, police said.

Investigators believe the expensive stuffed toys were stolen from Melbourne Central Shopping Centre in four separate burglaries.

The burglaries started in July, police allege.
