An Amber Alert issued for a one-year-old girl northwest of Toronto has been cancelled after she was found safe, though the suspect remains at large.

The alert was requested by Peel Regional Police for the girl, who had been last seen in Brampton, Ont.

Police in the Niagara Region say the suspect is believed to be in the Crystal Beach area of Fort Erie.

People in the area of Prospect Point and Ridgeway Road are being asked to shelter in place.

Police say residents should lock all windows and doors and not open their doors for strangers.

The suspect is described as a white man with brown hair who is five-foot-nine and weighs about 180 pounds.
