A new program was approved Tuesday to help homeowners along Vine Street freshen up their properties.

The city of Kissimmee voted in favor of a Residential Property Improvement Program that will offer matching grants of up to $5,000 to help homeowners cover the cost of projects such as painting, landscaping, driveway repairs, and lighting upgrades.

“When you are a homeowner, there’s always stuff you need to take care of,” said Vine Street homeowner Renee Gustafson, who supports the idea. “I think it’s a great idea. The city goes out of its way to work with homeowners and property owners.”
